If you're going through a financial trial, consider the priceless benefit of your situation. God will allow us to go through financial trials, so that we gain a clearer understanding of what has true value.

 

The Apostle Paul is a good example of this. In Philippians 3:8 he wrote: "What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ".

Paul isn't just talking about his religious education and standing which he mentions in verses 5 and 6. No, he considered "everything" a loss compared to knowing Christ. In fact, he makes it clear that he needed to lose everything in order to gain Christ.
